Global Wildlife Program

GWP Countries and Partners


Collectively, the GWP countries make up an incredible repository of biodiversity and potential for sustainable development across its GEF-6, GEF-7, and GEF-8 phases. The program’s integrated platform supports national governments, Ministries of Environment and Natural Resources and the Departments of Wildlife and Protected Areas across 38 countries.

In Africa, the GWP has projects in , , , , , , , , , , , , ,  (WBG),  (GEF-6),  (GEF-7, HWC),  (GEF-7, wildlife-based economy), , , and .

In Asia, projects are in , ,  (GEF-6),  (GEF-7), , the , , and .

In South Asia, projects are in  (GEF-6),  (GEF-7), and .

In Latin America, projects are in , , and .

 

In the GEF-8 phase (Wildlife Conservation for Development), national projects will be developed in Colombia, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Guinea, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Mexico, Mozambique, Nepal, Paraguay, the Philippines, Thailand, Uganda and Zambia.

The GWP collaborates with development partners on the ground to reduce the impacts of wildlife poaching, trafficking, human-wildlife conflict and promote livelihood activities by local communities. The GEF Agencies channeling the funds to the governments or other partners for the national projects are the 香港六合彩资料 Group,  (UNDP),  (UN Environment), (WWF), (IUCN), (CI) and the  (ADB).

Technical partners of the GWP include the (CITES) Secretariat, (CMS) Secretariat, , , and the (WCS).

The GWP also works with the (ICCWC), donors and conservation partners to implement an integrated approach for biodiversity conservation, wildlife crime prevention and sustainable development.
